CCP1 Training Events

Daresbury Codes Workshops

The DL staff run a series of training events designed to help the UK academic community make use of the software maintained by the Daresbury group in support of CCP1.

The first workshop was held at CLRC Daresbury Laboratory, 26-28^th November 2001, and addressed the functionality and use of the packages GAMESS-UK, ChemShell,and (in collaboration with CCP5) the molecular simulation code DL_POLY. The development of a python-based GUI for ab-initio electronic structure codes based on PyMol was also hihglighted. The Workshop included some hands-on sessions.

The second workshop took place at Daresbury on the 3^rd-4^th April 2003. This workshop addressed basic and advanced usage of GAMESS-UK and DLPOLY, together with an introduction to QM/MM modelling using the GAMESS-UK/CHARMM interface and the CHEMSHELL code.

The third workshop took place at Daresbury on the 11^rd-13^th April 2007. This workshop addressed basic and advanced usage of GAMESS-UK, CHEMSHELL and DLPOLY, together with an introduction to the CCP1 GUI. The course materials (in the form of powerpoint files) are available here.
